Abstract

In scientific writing, graphic elements have the potential to greatly improve manuscripts by demonstrating trends, showing comparisons, and presenting large amounts of data. When used incorrectly, however, graphic elements can clutter a manuscript or confuse readers. In this second installment in the Journal’s series on scientific writing, the author discusses the best approach to using graphic elements in a manuscript.
