Kira Bendixen, DO; Alexis Beinlich, DO; Bryan Beck, DO; Nabeel Hashmi, MS IV; and Alexa Craig, MD
Term neonates treated with therapeutic hypothermia (TH) may experience delays in acquiring skills for oral feeding, thus prolonging hospital admission. The authors conducted a pilot study of 12 term neonates to compare length of stay (LOS) in those managed with osteopathic manipulative treatment (OMT) to LOS in matched historical controls, in order to determine whether OMT could accelerate the transition to full oral feeds.
